Product Overview

Sodium metabisulfite (CAS 7681-57-4) is a common inorganic sulfite. It appears as white crystalline powder, soluble in water with mild sulfur dioxide odor. It carries strong reduction and anti-oxidation performance, widely used as industrial and food grade auxiliary raw material.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Rapidly soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Releases sulfur dioxide when contacting acid. Stable under sealed dry condition, easy to oxidize if exposed to air and moisture. Its reducing property removes oxidizing impurities in water and raw materials.
